BLUE JADES
The term blue jade has always referred to a blue hue in either jadeite or nephrite.

__________
Wyoming Blue Jade
Often a bluish green and bluish grey in either jade was sufficient for the term to be used.
In this vein the blue hues found in jade will also be illustrated. So often stone exhibiting this toning is of an excellent quality and a pleasure to work for the jade artist.
As is well illustrated with these two examples.
The upper is of rare, Wyoming Jade and was a single sample slab which, when carved, shows the subtle blue undertones through the thicker portions of the pendant.
A very attractive, translucent specimen.
Below a blue / green from the Yukon. A little known occurrence with examples being offered by Roger Kritchbaum.
Hand Carved Yukon Blue Nephrite
The oxide, olive coloring seeping in from the exterior surface imparting a subtle mystique.
Justin's Blue Jade Cobble
A tease ….. Big Sur Blue Jade. A beautiful, tight cobble ….. too nice to cut.
